1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
1 cup oil (vegetable or olive)
1 cup boiling water
2 drops food colouring or watercolour paint- optional
2 drops flavour scent (lemon, peppermint, vanilla) - optional
Ziploc bag or container for storage
Other ingredients you can add or substitute :
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
(This helps play dough last longer. It can be costly and difficult to find at the grocery store).
1 or 2 packets of jello or Kool aid
It will give colour and scent to your play dough.
Substitute the flour to gluten-free flour. See link for our gluten -free play dough.
Mix ingredients together, Then knead into a dough.
If the play dough is too DRY, sprinkle some water on top. Then knead it until soft. Repeat this if too sticky.
If the play dough is too STICKY, add a little flour to it. Knead until smooth and soft. Repeat this process if still sticky.
Play dough is ready!
